Mike Tyson Reflects on His “Gangster” like Lifestyle
During a recent episode of the HotBoxin podcast featuring J Balvin, Tyson was probed about the parallels between his lifestyle and that of notorious drug lord Pablo Escobar. Given their shared affluence, influence and notoriety, J Balvin asked Tyson if he was also keen to adopt a similar way of life.
To which Tyson replied, “I do (like a gangster) they taught me how to live. I’m not talking about selling drugs, I’m talking about the lifestyle. You know, you have to be a guy that won all the women and girls but just the lifestyle to be able to know I’m secured for life until I die.”
Tyson compared his lifestyle during those years to that of the infamous drug lord Pablo Escobar, both of whom enjoyed money, fame, and power in excess. While Tyson indulged in a lavish lifestyle filled with parties, women, and overspending, he now recognizes those years were filled with “bad moves” and poor decisions that ultimately led to his bankruptcy in 2003.
Moreover, Tyson stated that most gangsters who avoid jail often transform into politicians, entrepreneurs or philanthropists. As Tyson put it, “You became a tax cheater in New York, and when you come to Florida you become a philanthropist.”
