Miami GP: Red Bull’s Sergio Perez offers the first glimpse of racing at the Miami circuit: Red Bull has pulled off another remarkable feat ahead of Miami’s approaching debut on the F1 schedule, as their driver Sergio Perez drove from New York to Miami and then offered the first glimpse of how racing will be like at the much-anticipated curcuit. Four years ago, the Austrian team did something similar when Daniel Ricciardo crossed San Francisco’s Golden Bridge with his car. Speaking about his drive, Mexican driver Sergio Perez said “I loved taking part in my first Red Bull road trip. I remember seeing the one of Daniel crossing the Golden Gate Bridge. And never thought I would get the chance to be part of it.”

“I think Miami is the perfect place for Formula One. It’s a very fun city and there’s good energy there. The track is looking awesome and I can’t wait to see all the fans there. Austin always feels like a home race for me and I think Miami will be similar,” he further added.

Perez’s experience saw him set off from New York and rush to Miami in under a day in the RB7 car. He then saw himself in the city’s recently built International Autodrome for the primary laps in an F1 car. The race at Miami will take place on 8th May and it now remains to be seen how Checo performs in that race, having got first-hand experience of the track before anyone esle.
