Tielemans’ contract expires at the end of the season, so unloading him during the January transfer window could benefit Leicester. Van de Beek made a rare Premier League start against Bournemouth at Old Trafford on Tuesday evening. While the home team won comfortably 3-0, the game was marred by a devastating injury to Van de Beek. After being smacked with a sickening tackle by Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi, the Netherlands international was pulled off just before halftime. Replays revealed that Van van Beek had hyperextended his knee during the collision, which was concerning.
Despite buying Christian Eriksen and Casemiro during the summer transfer window, Manchester United may be concerned about a lack of quality cover. Last season, the likes of Fred and Scott McTominay struggled, so an injury to Eriksen or Casemiro might have a huge detrimental influence on Erik ten Hag’s team.
