The kit features a white polo collar – something that was very common in football kits back in the 1990s, but is almost obsolete these days with the emergence of round necks. Adding glamour to that polo white collar is a pattern – a series of triangles with red and black stripes.

Interestingly, Manchester United wore striped white polo collars back in the nineties, when the club was at the peak of its glory under the stewardship of legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson. This particular design seeks inspiration from the 1998/99 kit of the Red Devils, where they famously won the treble.
Around this time some 23 years ago, Manchester United won the Premier League, defeated Newcastle United to win the FA Cup, and also won the Champions League by beating Bayern Munich. They have fallen off the pedestal massively since then, but fans are hoping ten Hag will take the club to new heights as Ferguson did, and the players will do justice to the kit that was worn by the greats Roy Keane, Teddy Sheringham & Co.
There is another aspect of the kit which has impressed many. The logo of Manchester United is embossed on a neat and elegant pentagon-shaped shield. Besides that, there is a change in sleeve sponsor, with American IT firm DXC Technology replacing kitchen and bathroom company Kohler.
