Fan protests against the Glazers family are nothing uncommon for United fans. The biggest of these protests happened last year before the Liverpool match. Such was the severity of the protest that the match had to be suspended and was held at a later date. These protests have been called out by ‘The 1958’, a group of die-hard United fans who seek every opportunity to vent out their anger against the Glazers family.

Protests have been visible by the United fans in the last couple of weeks during the encounters against both Chelsea and London. Frustrated with the owner’s inability to keep up the promises to the club, these supporters want the resignation of the Glazers family. Subsequently ‘Glazers Out’ placards are very common at Old Trafford.
Since Manchester United will be playing their last home game against Brentford today, this will be the last opportunity for the group to organize their protest during a matchday. Today’s protest will be two-fold. The first part of the protest is scheduled to commence before the game while the second part of the protest will take place during the 73rd minute of the game when the supporters are scheduled to leave the stadium.

The significance of the 73rd minute for protest is of grand importance. The 73rd minute will mark 17 minutes remaining for the game to conclude which in turn marks 17 years of ownership of Manchester United by the Glazers family.

Manchester United is currently placed sixth in the Premier League standings. The red Devils have accumulated just 55 points after having played 35 games. Tottenham Hotspurs and Arsenal are currently placed fifth and fourth respectively and have a big gap in the points table with Manchester United after having played a game less.
