The opening goal came from, Rodri, who scored a scintillating curling shot in the 28th minute to give City the lead. Bayern Munich came back all fired up in the second half but an error from Dayot Upamecano gave City a chance and Bernardo Silva added a second goal with a stunning header.

Despite the best efforts of Bayern’s Leroy Sane, who repeatedly tested City’s goalkeeper Ederson, the visitors were unable to find a way back into the game. Erling Haaland, who has been goal scoring machine for City this season, scored the third goal with a powerful volley, further adding to Bayern’s woes. 
With the resounding win, City has put one foot in the semi-finals of the Champions League. Thomas Tuchel’s side will have to pull off a miraculous performance at home to avoid elimination.
The second leg of this quarter-final tie will take place on April 19th in Munich, and it will be interesting to see if Bayern Munich can mount a comeback.
