The Reds thrashed United in the Premier League match at Anfield on Sunday, winning 4-0 thanks to a goal from Salah that deflected off the crossbar. After he scored again to bring his total to 129, he broke Liverpool’s Premier League goal record, tying him with club great Robbie Fowler for the league’s most goals scored.
He joined Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink as the second player to score in five straight Premier League games against the Red Devils (for Leeds & Chelsea, 1998-2001). Salah is the first Liverpool player to score against Manchester United in six straight games across all competitions. In the Premier League, Mohamed Salah currently has more goals against Manchester United than Thierry Henry (8) and Sergio Agüero combined (8).
With a stunning 7-0 victory over Erik ten Hag’s team, Liverpool served as a timely reminder to Manchester United that they can still compete with any Premier League team on their best days. Cody Gakpo played a key role in the victory.
