Following the World Cup win in Qatar, Messi has just made two appearances for PSG. The 35-year-old scored in his first match back post World Cup victory. Messi appeared for PSG in a 2-0 win over Angers and also played the match where PSG lost to Rennes by a solitary goal. However, he missed PSG’s 7-0 win over Pays de Casel in the Coupe de France last weekend.

Recently Christopher Gatlier had said that Messi is pretty happy at PSG. He said, “I know there are talks and that the club has spoken to Leo but I don’t know where they are at. Leo seems to me to be happy in Paris and I think there is a real desire on behalf of the club to extend Leo’s contract,”. He added that Luis Campos, PSG’s football advisor, was in discussions with Messi’s representatives along with president Nasser al-Khelaifi.

Spanish publication MARCA reported that Lionel Messi will not extend his contract with PSG after the current season. Lionel Messi PSG contract is in the final few months and the publication while quoting Spanish journalist Gerard Romero said that Messi will reject PSG contract extension in favour of Barcelona. As per the report Romero said, “As of today, Leo Messi’s intention is not to extend his contract with PSG and, therefore, not to renew his deal with the Paris-based side.” Messi had signed for PSG on a free transfer back in 2021 from Barcelona on a two-year deal.
