Chelsea will continue to work towards the signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang before the transfer deadline on Thursday, according to a report in the Athletic.
Aubameyang only joined Barcelona in January, signing from Chelsea’s London rivals Arsenal, and has scored 11 times in 18 LaLiga appearances.
He has emerged as an option for Chelsea after the exits of Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner and it seems all parties are keen to strike a deal.

Yet the matter has been complicated by a burglary at the player’s home on Sunday, with the incident leaving the striker with a broken jaw, the Athletic say.
In protecting his family from the intruder, the 33-year-old is facing a layoff of at least a few weeks, depending on whether the injury needs surgical intervention.
While no firm agreement has been reached between the two clubs, the report suggests if the two parties can thrash out a deal, then negotiations over personal terms should be much more easily agreed.
