The Barcelona team are flying out to Japan to wrap up their 2022-23 season. They are travelling after a 2-1 defeat against Celta Vigo in the last La Liga match of the season. The team will be reuniting with club legend Andres Iniesta as they take on Vissel Kobe. Barcelona will be looking to end the season on a winning note after an unwanted defeat yesterday. However, Vissel Kobe will give a tough fight as they are leading the league table.

Vissel Kobe are hosting the Spanish Giants on the back of a 7-match unbeaten streak. They have won 5 of these games. They are also leading the J1 League table with 33 points from 15 games. After ending last season in the 13th position, they have improved exponentially this time around. They have the Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta on their side who joined Vissel Kobe back in 2018. However, this will be one of his last times playing for the side. His playing time has lessened this season. Hence, he will leave the club at the start of July.

Vissel Kobe vs Barcelona - KOBE vs BAR - Blaugrana travel for Club Friendly match with Robert Lewandowski, to reunite with Andres Iniesta

Barcelona are travelling to Japan with heavy hearts as they lost the last La Liga match of the season. They have dominated the entire season, but since they won the trophy in the middle of May, they took it lightly. Since then, they have only won 1 match which was against Mallorca out of their last 4. After their match against Vissel Kobe, they have a long break until their next pre-season match against Juventus on July 21. In the meantime, they will have a very interesting transfer window to look forward to with Lionel Messi rumoured to come back.

Vissel Kobe Team News

  • Iniesta will probably make a cameo sometime in the match. However, the maestro will probably not start the match as he has played for only 85 minutes of playing time this season. Considering he’s to leave early next month, this will be one of his last appearances for Vissel Kobe.
  • Yuya Osako who has been the top goalscorer will surely start for the side. He has scored 12 times in 16 appearances for the Japanese side. Hence, he will continue to lead from his place in the final third.
  • The coach will also probably involve Yoshimori Muto from the very first whistle. However, the coach will probably use his bench players as well as his focus will remain on their next J1 League match on June 10th.

Barcelona Team News

  • Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba are leaving Barcelona later this month. They will probably not be travelling to Japan and will not be involved in this match like the previous match. Hence, they will miss a chance to reunite with their former teammate Iniesta.
  • In the meantime, Frenkie de Jong, Robert Lewandowski, Gavi, and Ousmane Dembele will all travel to Japan. Whereas, Pedri, Ronald Araujo, and Alejandro Balde are suffering from injuries. Hence, they will be sidelined for this match.
  • Coach Xavi could also give some minutes to his youngsters Dani Rodriguez, Marc Guiu, Unai Hernandez, and Pau Prim. Similar to him, he could also include their most recent arrival Julian Araujo who could make his debut.
