The 21-year-old pacer hails from Kulgam and is the third Kashmiri player to feature in the Indian Premier League. With him featuring in the game against Mumbai Indians, would also be the first time in the history of the competition, that three Kashmiri players are playing in the same tournament.

The other two players from the Kashmiri contingent are Abdul Samad and Umran Malik. Both Samad and Malik play for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). It remains to be seen whether the young pacer can match up to the standards of his compatriot Umran Malik who was retained by SRH ahead of the IPL 2022 Mega Auction.

KKR Brendan McCullum was full of praise for the young speedster. He said, “Rasikh is an incredible talent. His ability to swing the ball both ways is very rare in the game.”
This isn’t the first time for Rasikh Dar to feature in the IPL. He was a part of the Mumbai Indians team and played a solitary game for the Mumbai outfits in 2019. His IPL debut in 2019 made him the youngest player ever to play in the Indian Premier League.

However, the happy days didn’t last for the youngster who was subsequently banned by the BCCI as Rasikh was charged with age-fudging. Mumbai Indians then took very little time to release him. Kolkata Knight Riders bought him for a base price of 20 lakhs in the IPL 2022 Mega Auction which took place in February in Bangalore.
