Chasing a mammoth target of 216, KKR faltered from the beginning. Venkatesh Iyer and Ajinkya Rahane departed inside the powerplay. While Shreyas Iyer and Nitish Rana did well steady KKR with 54 off 33 and 30 off 20 respectively. But after Lalit Yadav removed Rana, KKR kept losing wickets. The 69-run stand was the only meaningful stand.
Post that, Pat Cummins, Andre Russell both failed to fire with Kuldeep Yadav taking the centre stage, bagging four wickets for 35 runs besides Khaleel Ahmed’s three wickets ensured Delhi Capitals won the match by 44 runs as KKR were bowled out for 171.

Earlier, Delhi Capitals’ devastating duo of Prithvi Shaw and David Warner finally delivered together as their individual fifties powered DC to 216 in 20 overs. Rishabh Pant and Shardul Thakur equally contributed with quickfire knocks.
Sent tp bat, David Warner and Prithvi Shaw took full advantage of the flat pitch and posted 93-run partnership for the opening stand. But the carnage was on from the word-go. Prithvi smashes 29-ball 51 while David Warner smashed 61 off 45. He was well supported by Rishabh Pant, who smashed 14-ball 27.
But KKR fought back. With quick wickets, the 200-run mark looked difficult. However, Shardul Thakur and Axar Patel promoted up the order took full advantage of the pitch and smashed quickfire knocks to power DC to 215/5, the highest total of IPL 2022.
