KKR Retained Players Latest – IPL 2022 Retained Players: Eoin Morgan under his leadership took Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to finals of IPL 2021 – but still he is unlikely to be retained by the franchise for IPL 2022. According to a source close to KKR management, Morgan has already been informed about the decision of the management. “Morgan’s batting form has been an area of huge concern in IPL 2021. Despite of his good show on the leadership front, slump in his batting form is the reason that Morgan will not be retained by the franchise”, declared the source close to KKR Management.

It is worth noting that Morgan could only score 117 Runs @ poor average of 11 in 17 matches during the last season. The source informed InsideSport that franchise is not ready to shell out big bucks for England’s white-ball captain due to his struggle for runs which even continued during the T20 World Cup.

KKR Retained Players Latest – IPL 2022 Retained Players: If Morgan is not retained that means KKR will also venture out for new captain for the next season. Meanwhile according to available information, KKR is likely to retain Venkatesh Iyer in the squad along with Varun Chakravarthy.

Along with the two Indians, KKR is also interested in retaining Pat Cummins but only if he commits full season to KKR. If Cummins doesn’t give full commitment, KKR is likely to make choice between Andre Russell or Sunil Narine as one of the retained player.

KKR will retain the following players –

1) Venkatesh Iyer
2) Varun Chakravarthy
3) Andre Russell / Sunil Narine / Pat Cummins

The deadline to submit retained players list for the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League is now just FEW days away.

  • RTM Cards: There will also be no Right to Match (RTM) cards this time around.

The BCCI has also outlined how much funds will be deducted from the salary cap as per their choices of retentions.
