Jon Jones No. 1 P4P Rankings
Last Saturday night, Jones made a victorious comeback to the Octagon, dispatching former interim champion Ciryl Gane in just two minutes. The Frenchman was taken down against the fence by “Bones,” who then used outstanding grappling to lock up a guillotine and win the UFC heavyweight championship.

Jones is now the eighth UFC fighter to have won belts in two weight divisions. His return took more than three years to prepare for because Jones’ last bout was in February 2020. His current record is 27-1 (1 NC).

UFC 284 gave us a real doozy. Alexander Volkanovski, the top-ranked male pound-for-pound boxer, attempted history by moving up a weight division to face Islam Makhachev, the second-ranked P4P fighter, for the lightweight championship.
Makhachev prevailed over Volkanovski and continued to hold the UFC’s second-place P4P ranking till now. After UFC 285, though, Volkanovski and Makhachev fell in the rankings.
