ISL 2021-22- FC Goa Squad: FC Goa have announced their final squad for the upcoming Indian Super League season. The Gaurs have announced a 28-member squad that includes 11 homegrown Goan players. Head coach Juan Ferrando will once again look to lead the team to the title after managing to reach the playoffs last season.
ISL 2021-22- FC Goa Squad: The Spanish tactician recently guided the Gaurs to the Durand Cup title in West Bengal and now will be looking to replicate that in this season’s ISL. FC Goa have been one of the most consistent and well-managed teams in the league but they are yet to bring the ISL title home. The Gaurs have reached the finals on two occasions under Sergio Lobera and also under Zico. But both times they have ended their campaign empty-handed. This season again the fans feel that their team have a genuine shot at the trophy.

ISL 2021-22: FC Goa announce their 28-member squad for the upcoming Indian Super League season
The new ISL season has brought in new rules. This season we will see more Indian players in action after it was decided that not more than six foreigners can join any team and not more than four can take the field at any given moment. The foreigners’ count was slashed down from seven to six to increase the exposure of the Indian players allowing them a platform to grow and develop. Among the six foreigners in accordance with the AFC rule, one of the players should be from the AFC member nation. Each clubs now have to increase the development players from a minimum of two to a maximum of four with two of them making the matchday squads in each and every match throughout the season. FC Goa’s three developmental players are midfielder Christy Davis, defender Lalmangaihsanga (Papuia) and young custodian Hrithik Tiwari.
