Earlier, Zimbabwe opted to bat and got off to a good start as both the openers added up 35 runs for the opening wicket. However, the visitors were soon reduced to 64/5 and were really looking in deep trouble when Milton Shumba (46* off 27) and Ryan Burl (37* off 33) resurrected the innings and eventually posted 152/5 on the board. Shane Getkate (3-20) was the pick of the bowlers for Ireland.
Moreover, it will be interesting to watch if Zimbabwe manages to bounce back or the home side continues to build on some momentum.
