Currently, the salary purse is fixed at Rs 90 crore. But the board is mulling to increase it substantially before next season.

InsideSport has learnt that the windfall of cash from the IPL MEDIA RIGHTS will positively impact players’ salaries.

It is worth noting that teams have locked most of their squad for 3 years via mega-auction before IPL 2022. The locked players will not get any increase in the salary.

But for MINI-AUCTION before the IPL 2023 – teams can get more monies to spend.

Instead of Rs 90 crore, the purse can increase to 120-130 crore if teams agree for the same. The IPL Governing Council will soon take the final decision on the same.
