As per the information shared by a J&K based Journalist Mohsin Khan, Avinash was born and brought up in Jammu. He has played most of the cricket with tennis ball. Before the IPL auction, Avinash joined a local cricket academy and played a few matches with the season ball to hone his skills. It is also being told that Avinash has the ability to bowl with express pace just like Umran Malik.

Earlier this year, Avinash attended a trial camp organized by RCB in Jammu. The express pacer impressed everyone with his bowling skills. In a desire to work on his bowling skills, he went to Pune where he worked on his bowling with several prominent coaches.

This auction was an opportunity for RCB to venture into the other wing of our scouting, known as Hinterland scouting,” says RCB’s Head of Scouting, Malolan Rangarajan. “We have our AI partner helping us out, identifying talent. When we had gone to Jammu and Kashmir, we had identified Avinash over there. Ever since then, he ticked off a few parameters of us. One of which, the most important parameter is, for him to be able to bowl (at a speed of) 145 kmph.”

We have time now from December to March-April, and we have time to work on him. I wouldn’t be surprised if we go with our plan, he has the ability to even touch 150 in the future,” added Rangarajan. Over the next few months, Avinash Singh will get to work with Adam Griffith, RCB’s fast bowling coach to further polish his skills before the IPL season.

Speaking to a local news channel on YouTube, father of Avinash, Ashok Singh Manhas said, “My son has toiled very hard to get this opportunity. Not only him, but me along with his mother have also supported him despite the lack of cricketing facilities in the area.”
