English superstar Jofra Archer picked up three wickets, including two in two balls, on his return to competitive cricket. Returning from a near 18-month injury layoff, Archer showcased his venomous bowling was not out of touch in the MI Cape Town vs Paarl Royals clash in Newlands.
The 2019 World Cup winner had Wihan Lubbe caught out on the third ball of his opening over, which was a maiden. He followed it up with two more wickets in his third over to finish with figures of 3-27. His spell included 12 dot balls, helping MI Cape Town canter to an easy win.

Archer was purchased by MI Cape Town as a wildcard player ahead of the inaugural season. The Englishman will play one more match for the franchise, before joining up with the England ODI squad. With the Ashes and World Cup later this year, the ECB are working cautiously on getting their star pacer back on track.
His debut for MI Cape Town only increases the excitement for his return to the IPL. Despite his injury, Mumbai Indians had forked out Rs 8 crore to get his services last year. Now back to full fitness, Archer could pair with Jasprit Bumrah in attack, in what is a mouth-watering prospect.
