Ahead of IPL 2022, the Yellow Army had named Jadeja as its new skipper replacing the veteran MS Dhoni. However, under his leadership, CSK had a horrible time during the starting phase of the tournament. Jadeja himself stepped down from the captaincy before suffering an injury and getting ruled out of the entire tournament. He managed just 116 and five wickets in the 10 matches he played so far. CSK only managed to win 4 games out of the 14 matches they played in the IPL 2022 season.

Jadeja has been an integral part of the CSK squad since 2010. The prominent all-rounder has given many match-winning performances for the Yellow Army in the past and has played an integral role in CSK’s triumph in the tournament.

“Everyone knows that the relationship between Jadeja and CSK is not on great terms. Jadeja hasn’t responded to CSK’s messages or calls since the last few months. But they are in a legally bounded contract. CSK will attempt one last time to touch base with Jadeja. If he doesn’t respond, the team will have to release the player keeping BCCI in loop”, a closely attached source with CSK told InsideSport.

Following are the players that CSK may release ahead of the IPL 2023 auction:
