For the first time ever, the IPL ceremony will have a drone light show. The pictures of the rehearsal have already gone viral on the internet. Sukrit Singh, who is the Partner of TCM Platform, that is tasked with organising the grand opening ceremony, is confident of making it a memorable one for fans.
“It’s been a long time since the IPL has had a ceremony quite like this one, so it’s extremely refreshing to be back at the stadium creating something incredible for them“, Sukrit said.
In addition to the drone light show, Bollywood artists Tamannaah Bhatia, Arijit Singh, and Rashmika will set the stage on fire with their scintillating performances, adding to the excitement of the evening.
“While the ceremony itself is going to be extraordinary, the major change that we’re going forward with this year is the use of drones for 3D presentations over the stadium. By seamlessly integrating technology and performances into one great show, it promises to be a spectacle not just for those in the stands but for the millions watching from home as well“, Vidur, Managing Partner of TCM Platform added.
Notably, the last time the IPL had a grand opening ceremony was back in 2018, and the event had been on hiatus since then. The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and the Pulwama terrorist attack in 2019 prevented the IPL from holding an opening ceremony. This year marks the return of the grand opening ceremony after a gap of five years, and fans are eagerly looking forward to it.
MS Dhoni and Hardik Pandya to be part of IPL 2023 Opening Ceremony
Apart from the glitters and glamours, fans will also see cricketing action with a match between IPL 2022 champions Gujarat Titans and the Chennai Super Kings. However, the captains of both teams – Hardik Pandya and MS Dhoni – are set to be part of the opening ceremony as well.
“Being the kickoff of the tournament alongside the opening ceremony, we have incorporated a special little surprise with the team captains of both the Chennai Super Kings and the Gujarat Giants! They’ll be part of the show and will be there to flag off the start of the IPL’s 16th edition,” Sukrit Singh revealed.
