The auctioneer collapsed during mega auctions, and Charu filled in. BCCI had apprehensions about whether Edmeades will return during the IPL mini-auction in Kochi due to health issues. “I am thrilled to have been asked by the BCCI to conduct the 2023 IPL auction and am excited about visiting Kochi for the first time,” Edmeades told Sportstar.

- For the unreserved, Edmeades collapsed in the ballroom of the ITC Gardenia hotel on the first day of the IPL mega-auction in Bengaluru.
- Later it was reported it was due to postural hypotension, that the auctioneer collapsed.
- BCCI contacted Charu Sharma, who immediately rushed to the ITC Gardenia hotel. Now, Edmeades health is under control, and he has given a signal in conducting IPL mini-auction.
- Edmeades is conducting IPL auctions since 2018. He is doing a fabulous job just as Richard Madley was doing before.
- The auctioneer has a huge experience of conducting auctions, as he has conducted over 2500 globally.
- Now, he is looking forward to going to Kochi and hoping for his health to support him this time around.
