“We are speaking with Amitabh Bachchan and a few other top celebrities to run the quiz. The name will be finalized soon,” an official told e4m.
InsideSport also reached out to Viacom team and was informed, that the ‘LIVE Streaming partner is in talks with few other celebs including BIG B to host the QUIZ around IPL 2023 streaming’.

How Viacom making IPL LIVE Streaming big? First thing first, Jio Cinema will offer free streaming of IPL 2023. Unlike Disney Hotstar, streaming of IPL will be completely free this time.
- The content will be offered in 12-13 regional languages.
- Fans will be able to chat-with-commentators. This will also available for women IPL which will begin in March.
- KBC-like quizzes and prizes to make the live telecast of the matches more interesting and engaging.
- Viacom in talks with Amitabh Bachchan and few others to host the quizes.
- 4K videos: While the company would be recording and streaming 4k videos through its high end cameras and systems, most app users would be able to watch only HD video. About 10 percent of smart TV users have wifi and broadband connectivity that can stream 4k videos.
IPL LIVE Streaming through BROADBAND Connection: The company according to a report has also tied up with three lakh housing societies in metro cities to stream the match through BROADBAND Connection.
This means now the households with connected TV’s can watch IPL like a normal broadcast via broadband connection. The company has also tied up with 25,000 restaurants and 10,000 colleges across India for the same activity.
This will eat into the pie of Disney Star Sports.
The Live streaming partners have also planned several offline activations for IPL 2023. Viacom18 has also come up with Jio Media cables that can connect even low-end smartphones with old linear TVs, including the CRT one, and stream IPL through the Jiocinema app.
The cable, which currently costs nearly Rs 1,500 might be available for a few hundred bucks soon. The industry experts believe that Jio’s strategy may turn out to be a disrupter in the IPL telecast.
Other than this company is introducting JIO GLASSES for high-end users. The company plans to launch specially-designed Jio Glasses this IPL season that gives a 360-degree VR feed using JioDive. The glasses cost Rs 25,000 and would be available at Jio stores.
