IPL 2023 Season 16: Star Sports from last 5 years have been broadcasting the World’s richest cricket league in multiple languages. Now with the launch of new channels, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) fans will be able to see IPL MATCHES in HIGH Definition (HD) for the 1st time. Sunrisers Hyderabad fans will also be treated to IPL Coverage in HD in their own language via launch of new channel.
- It is worth noting that Disney Star won the coveted IPL Indian sub-continent TV rights for a whopping ₹23,575 crore.
- Viacom18 grabbed the digital rights with a bid of ₹20,500 crore at the media rights auction this year.

IPL 2023 Season 16: Disney Star & Viacom now are finding different ways to cater to their audiences in best possible manners. Star announced the launch of new channels while declaring the new tariff in compliance with New Tariff Order (NTO) 2.0.
Other than 3 new sports channels, Disney Star is also launching 6 other channels in different genres.
The channels to be launched next year includes two Hindi movie channels – Star Gold Romance and Star Gold Thrills. Other than this Star will be launching a new English movie channel – Star Movies Select.
3 sports channels – Star Sports Select HD2, Star Sports 1 Tamil HD and Star Sports 1 Telugu HD,
1 kids channel – Disney Channel HD & a Tamil GEC Vijay Super HD and Malayalam movie channel – Asianet Movies HD. The broadcaster has now decided to launch the remaining channels next year as NTO 2.0 will be implemented on February 1, 2023. In 2022, the network launched several new channels, including Pravah Pictures, Star Kirano, and Star Kirano HD.
Meanwhile for now BROADCASTER is fully focussed to showcase IPL Auction LIVE from Kochi. Star Sports Auction LIVE Coverage will begin from 1.30 PM on Friday.
