Rishabh Pant, who was the captain of the team, suffered an injury in a car accident last year. Anrich Nortje and Sarfaraz Khan are the other two players who are currently sidelined due to injuries.

Mumbai Indians, who have won the IPL a record five times, have also been hit hard by injuries. Jasprit Bumrah, one of the best fast bowlers in the world, suffering from a back injury that has ruled him out of the tournament. Jhye Richardson, who was bought by the team for a whopping sum, is also out with a hamstring injury.

Chennai Super Kings, who is the second most successful franchise in the IPL, has also suffered a setback. Ben Stokes, who was bought by the team in the auction, is out with a knee injury. Kyle Jamieson, who was also bought by the team, has a back stress fracture.

Punjab Kings, who finished sixth in the last edition of the IPL, is currently seeking a replacement for Jonny Bairstow. He broke his left leg and dislocated his ankle on September 2 last year while playing golf. Rajasthan Royals, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Royal Challengers Bangalore have also been hit by injuries.

Prasidh Krishna, who is still recovering from a stress fracture injury is a big blow to Rajasthan Royals. While KKR’s ace batter Shreyas Iyer has been ruled out of the tournament due to his back injury. Star English cricketer Will Jacks is supposed to play for Royal Challengers Bangalore this season, but due to a muscle injury, he has been ruled out.

The injuries to these players have raised concerns among fans and team management alike. IPL is a long and grueling tournament, with each team playing 14 matches in the league stage alone. With the added pressure of playoffs and the final, it is crucial that teams have a full-strength squad at their disposal.

Injuries are an inevitable part of sports, and it is up to the teams to manage their players’ workload and fitness to avoid such setbacks. With the IPL just a few days away, it remains to be seen how the affected teams will cope with the absence of their key players.
