1. Royal Challengers Bangalore
Coming to IPL 2023 Auction, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have some decisions to make before they submit their retained players list. While opening remains a problem despite Du Plessis’ presence, the likes of Glenn Maxwell, Virat Kohli, Dinesh Karthik, and Shahbaz Ahmed are sure-shot retainers.
In the bowling department, the likes of Wanindu Hasaranga, Mohammad Siraj and Harshal Patel are expected to retain their place in the squad. Jason Behrendorff has been traded to Mumbai Indians.

2. Chennai Super Kings
The four-time champions were planning to release Ravindra Jadeja ahead of the auction. However, with skipper MS Dhoni playing the role of a bridge, the franchise is doing everything they can to retain Jadeja. However, the same cannot be said about the likes of Chris Jordan, Adam Milne and Mitchell Santner who have not been able to give their best for the Yellow Army and might be released.
Top Retained Players: MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Moeen Ali, Shivam Dube, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Devon Conway, Mukesh Choudhary, Dwaine Pretorius Deepak Chahar.

Robin Uthappa and Ambati Rayudu will be released as they have retired.
3. Mumbai Indians
Just like CSK, Mumbai Indians (MI) also had a torrid time during the last edition of the IPL. The team management needs to make a call on their senior player Kieron Pollard. However, the Men in Blue and Gold will surely retain their core members of the squad including Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah. The five time champions have signed Jason Behrendorff from RCB.

4. Gujarat Titans
Debutants Gujarat Titans scripted history after they won their first IPL in the last edition. GT also have a strong core squad with the likes of Hardik Pandya, Rashid Khan, David Miller and Shubman Gill set to be retained. However, the same cannot be said for the Australian wicketkeeper-batter Matthew Wade who had a torrid time during IPL 2023. The defending champions might also release the likes of Vijay Shankar and Varun Aaron.

5. Delhi Capitals
Delhi Capitals would have considered themselves unlucky. They won 7 games in the 14 matches they played and finished in the 5th position after missing out on the playoff spot by a whisker. Under Rishabh Pant’s captaincy, DC will want to put on a much better effort and try to clinch the trophy in the upcoming season. The biggest name on the release list is of Shardul Thakur. DC want to trade him with CSK for Jadeja. However, that is not happening at the moment.
The Capitals will definitely retain the likes of David Warner, Prithvi Shaw, Axar Patel, Rovman Powell, Mitchell Marsh apart from their skipper Rishabh Pant.

6. Rajasthan Royals
The likes of Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson, Ravichandran Ashwin, Shimron Hetmyer, Trent Boult, and Yuzvendra Chahal were the chief performer for RR. They are expected to keep their place in the squad. The Jaipur-based franchise might let go some players including express pacer Navdeep Saini, and foreign batters including Daryl Mitchell, Rassie van der Dussen and Corbin Bosch.

But with poor form, Agarwal’s stint with the PBKS is likely to come to an end. PBKS will also have to make some crucial decisions before submitting its list of retained players on November 16. The likes of Shahrukh Khan and Odean Smith are also under the radar of getting released.

LSG might opt to release Kyle Mayers, Dushmantha Chameera, Manish Pandey, Shahbaz Nadeem and Ankit Rajpoot from their squad.

SRH are expected to retain their skipper Kane Williamson despite scoring just 216 runs in the last season. Express pacer Umran Malik will also be retained. The likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Nicholas Pooran and Washington Sundar are also expected to hold their respective place in the squad.

The two-time champions might also keep Pat Cummins, Nitish Rana, Sheldon Jackson, Rinku Singh and Umesh Yadav in their squad. KKR are expected to trade Shivam Mavi and bring back the ace-pacer Lockie Ferguson in the squad.
