IPL 2023 Auction- CSK bid for Josh Little: Despite interest from Chennai Super Kings, Josh Little has no fascination to return to Yellow Army. The speedster is waiting for IPL 2023 auction on Friday to run its course. Notably, in the past, the Ireland bowler was involved in a controversy with 4-time IPL champions. He left the MS Dhoni-led side only two weeks after joining them. The 23-year-old walked off from the CSK squad after being used as a “net bowler”. IPL 2023 Auction: Despite interest from Chennai Super Kings, Josh Little has no interest in returning to Yellow Army, Check WHY?

While speaking to Cricbuzz, Little revealed that he was naive at the time to leave the franchise after two weeks and that CSK might never have him back.

He said, ” I was told it was something it wasn’t,” he said. “I was told before I went that I’m a net bowler and if someone gets injured then there’s a chance I play. But I couldn’t bowl when I wanted, I’d get two overs [in training] and think, ‘Two overs, I’m halfway across the world here!’ Maybe I was naive because I played in the Lankan Premier League and T10, I had a good year behind me”.

He added, “I’m an international cricketer, it didn’t seem right. The other guys were keen to get involved because they never had that sort of exposure. When I found out I was a net bowler that was required to bowl at someone when the slingers were tired, I was like ‘get me out of here’ – which is probably why they’ll never have me back because I left after two weeks,”.

Suresh Raina bats for Josh Little to be picked by CSK

Despite last season’s trouble with CSK, the Irish youngster, is back in the Indian Premier League auction (IL 2023). The IPL 2023 auction is scheduled to take place in Kochi on December 23rd. Ahead of the PL 2023 auction former Chennai Super Kings cricketer Suresh Raina has singled out Little to be one of the players to  watch out for during the auction.

Raina said, “Sam Curran has done really well for England as well as for Chennai Super Kings and there is Ben Stokes who has led the England well. So having a top all-rounder in your team can change the movement of the game. Then there is Jaydev Unadkat who just won the Vijay Hazare Trophy and has a lot of experience in the IPL. Watch out for Joshua Little from Ireland. He has done really well in the World Cup just now, and I just played with him. N Jagadeesan has a very good cricketing brain, and he bats so deep, is a very smart, calculative batsman. He has done really well for Tamil Nadu, watch out for him.”
