“It was hard job [captaincy] to take on [for R Jadeja]. When Alex Ferguson left Manchester United, it kind of like was similar,” Vaughan told Cricbuzz.

“You are going into the management and you have a sight that he is still in the dressing room, watching it. He is still a part of the team and now you are gonna have to manage Alex Ferguson. That’s pretty much what was R Jadeja was trying to do and manage the legendary MS Dhoni, who is still in the dressing room and playing. I thought it was always going to be very difficult for him,” he added.

When it comes to IPL 2022, MS Dhoni returned to the helm against Sunrisers Hyderabad as CSK avenged their previous loss by 13 runs. CSK seems to be reignited with fresh energy as openers Ruturaj Gaikwad (99) and Devon Conway (85*) guided CSK to 202/2 in the allotted 20 overs. SRH failed to chase down the total as wickets continued to fall for the Orange army. R Jadeja impressed with his bowling after leaving captaincy duties while Mukesh Choudhary once again shined with a 4-wicket haul.

CSK needs to continue their winning streak in the group stage if they want to stay in the fray for IPL 2022 playoffs. They will next play Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Delhi Capitals (DC), Mumbai Indians (MI), Gujarat Titans (GT) and Rajasthan Royals (RR).
