Hales has listed himself in IPL Auction at a base price of 1.5 Crore. The 33-year-old cricketer who predominantly plays limited-overs cricket these days has played just 6 matches in IPL 2018.

Alex Hales in BBL: For the Sydney Thunders, Hales had a decent season in BBL 2022. He scored a quick-firing 383 runs in 13 innings with an average of 31.92.
His BBL 2022 stint had two fifties with an individual high score of 80 Not out.

In an interview at Geo TV Hales gave his opinion of England pulling out of the England tour of Pakistan at the last moment amidst security concerns.
He said, “That decision to cancel that tour made absolutely no sense. Especially after Pakistan came to England during COVID and helped out the ECB massively. So for them to cancel that tour made absolutely zero sense to me. It was only a short tour, only a few T20s so it made no sense.”
