IPL 2022: Sunrisers Hyderabad struggling to retain Rashid Khan, Kane Williamson confirmed: Follow LIVE Updates

Sunrisers Hyderabad Retained Players – Why Sunrisers Hyderabad struggling to hold Rashid Khan? According to the sources, SRH management is in constant dialogue with Rashid Khan but the champion spinner from Afghanistan still hasn’t agreed to the deal. Reason, Rashid Khan is not too happy with the salary being offered to him by Sunrisers.

Till IPL 2021 Rashid Khan was paid 9 Cr as his annual salary package & the leading T20 spinner in the world feels he is worth much more. SRH is ready to increase his salary to 12 Cr but still hasn’t been able to convince the world’s leading spinner fully according to a source.

SRH will name Kane Williamson as their No. 1 player which means salary of 16 Crore will be reserved for the Kiwi captain.

Will any Indian player be retained? The only India player SRH wants to retain is pace sensation Umran Malik. But the deliberations are still on if the pacer is worth the price tag of few crores. Irrespective what deal is weaved in with Malik – if he becomes the 3rd retention of SRH, 8 Crore will be subtracted from Sunrisers total purse of 90 Crores.

This is the reason, SRH is still deliberating whether to retain the young pacer or let him go. It is worth noting that Umran Malik impressed everyone in his first IPL season as he became the fastest bowler in IPL with consistency bowling about 150Kph.

No change of heart for David Warner: The Australian opener recently was named T20 World Cup player of the tournament but that will not change the franchise’s stance on Warner. SRH has decided to release both Warner and England’s wicket-keeper batsman Johny Bairstow.

With no Indian player getting retained, It is clear that SRH will have a new look team under the captaincy of Kane Williamson in IPL 2022
