Sanju Samson was once again off to a great start, scoring 24-ball 32 before he suddenly blew away his start. Against Jason Holder, he wanted to go over the off-side only to play it in the hands of Deepak Hooda.

With Rishabh Pant set to be rested, the competition for the wicketkeeper’s job is between Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson for the South Africa series. But the lack of big scores could hurt the Rajasthan Royals captain.
Devdutt Padikkal, who failed to impress on his India debut in Sri Lanka last year, is also in the fray for a call-up. But he too hasn’t put up those consistent scores. Batting at No 3 and No 4, a new role for him, Padikkal has misfired far too often.
