Coming to bat at number 4, Rishabh Pant remained not out on 39 after playing a total of 36 deliveries. A batter who is known to attack the bowlers and thereby hit barrages of boundaries managed to hit just 3 fours and 2 sixes. For someone who manages a Strikerate of more than 125 in T20I games, this innings was a shocker.
Fans were surprised to see such an innings from the Delhi skipper. It was a common belief that Pant would take over from fiery innings which were executed by Delhi Capitals opener Prithvi Shaw. Two similarly aggressive batters played innings that were poles apart in the game.

Banking on a good start laid down by Prithivi Shaw’s 61 off 34, Pant’s struggle against spin continued in the latter part of the DC innings. Ultimately the capitals ended their innings after managing to put up 149/3 at the end of 20 overs.
