David Miller Last Over Sixes: Chasing a total of 189, Gujarat Titans lost opener Wriddhiman Saha in the very first over of the innings. However with good partnership between Shubman Gill and Matthew Wade, the team reached a good position.
In the eight over of the innings, Gill was dismissed with the team’s score at 72. Wade too departed in the 10th over and Miller joined hands with Hardik Pandya at the crase when still 104 runs were needed of 63 deliveries.
Miller took time to settle in the middle as he score just 10 runs off the first 14 deliveries he faced. He lighted up his innings after finally scoring a boundary in the last ball of the 14th over. With the required run rate over 9 runs per over, Miller accelerated his scoring.
He calculated his shots and was very clear with when to attack and when to rotate the strike as he and Hardik Pandya built on a big partnership in order to take the team home. Miller reached his fifty off 35 balls in the penultimate over of the innings and was on strike in the last over, with still 16 runs required.
He scored those runs with utmost ease by smashing three huge sixes in a row to take his team into the final.
