On Saturday, it was the KL Rahul show. He slammed 2nd ton against MI and third of his IPL career on his 100th match to help LSG post 199/4. Manish Pandey supported him well with 29-ball 38.
But as has been the case, Mumbai Indians’ top-order fell apart pretty quickly. Rohit Sharma was first to go followed by Dewald Brevis. But Baby AB did contribute well with a 13-ball 31-run knock. Suryakumar Yadav (37) and Tilak Varma (26) stitched together a 64-run stand but LSG struck back removing both in quick succession. In the end, Kieron Pollard once again failed to take MI home, losing the match by 18 runs.
The result meant, Lucknow Super Giants jumped to 2nd place with 8 points, behind Gujarat Titans on NRR. For Mumbai, they are the only team yet to win a single match, stretching their losing streak to 6 matches.

- MI have lost all of their 6 matches this season.
- Even if Rohit Sharma-led MI win the remaining 8 matches, they will not be guaranteed a place in the Top 4.
- If Mumbai win their remaining 8 games this season, they could stay in the fray.
- But MI will need other lower-ranked teams to beat higher-ranked teams.
- MI have the worst Net Run Rate at -1.048 and in the next eight matches, MI will have to win big by taking the NRR into positive if they still want to be in the contest.
