IPL 2022: Kaif stunned by Ashwin’s 100% commitment to the game – Kaif narrated an incident where Ashwin was smacked for a few runs in the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai. The next day was an optional practice session for DC players. Ashwin was in no mood to rest and wanted to come back stronger in the next match.
The off-spinner practiced for close to two to three hours and wanted to get his length right for the next game. “Ashwin was with me at Delhi Capitals before moving to Rajasthan Royals. Players who had played the previous game had an option to rest. But Ashwin was with me on the bus. I asked him, ‘What happened? Today is just an optional session’. But he said, ‘I want to get my length right’,” Kaif told Sportskeeda.
Kaif was left spellbound by Ashwin’s never-ending involvement in the game. The DC coach also felt he never shies away from experimenting.

Meanwhile, Ashwin is forming a deadly combination with leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal. The off-spinner is keeping one end tight and has not conceded more than nine runs per over in most games. Chahal is the leading wicket-taker in IPL 2022, but Ashwin has played a good hand in supporting him.
