Mohammed Shami has been the most successful bowler in the powerplay this season and the Gujarat Titans seamer put on another fine display of fast bowling at the Wankhede Stadium on Wednesday. While the Indian ace struggled to find his line earlier, he gave the perfect demonstration on how to use the in-swinger with two deadly wickets in his opening burst.

Having conceded 10 wides early, Williamson drove Shami for a fine boundary to open the floodgates for Sunrisers Hyderabad. However, Shami had the perfect response, who bowled a delivery that nipped back in to castle the SRH skipper. The Indian ace has a favourable record against his Kiwi counterpart, and Williamson was left wondering as the ball zipped to castle his woodwork.

Shami followed it up dismissing Rahul Tripathi, Sunrisers’ in-form and one of the most aggressive batsmen in the league. Tripathi took to Shami in his second over, running down the track to score six and two boundaries in succession, but Shami’s set-up worked as he caught the Maharashtra star off guard with a quick inswinger. The umpires had initially ruled Tripathi not out, but it was overturned on review with the ball crashing into the leg stump.
