Mark Wood was bought by the KL Rahul-led team, Lucknow Supergiants, for a whopping amount of INR 7.50 crores after impressive performances with the England national team. However, he sustained a right elbow injury earlier this month in the first match of England’s ongoing Test series against the West Indies.

Previously, former England cricketer Steve Harmison pointed fingers at ECB for Wood’s injury and blamed the board’s mismanagement and over-use of Wood during the Ashes against Australia for the injury.
“He’s frustrated, he couldn’t straighten his elbow, there’s a bit of swelling. He bowled a lot (in the Ashes) and I remember thinking that we’re going to need him further down the line,” he said TalkSPORT. Wood becomes the third Englishman to miss out on IPL 2022 action, after Jason Roy and Alex Hales pulled out because of bio-bubble fatigue.
