Chasing 169 against LSG, Ishan Kishan was already struggling to get going in the innings as he scored just 8 runs off 20 balls in the innings. With the powerplay on, he looked completely out of form as he didn’t even manage to score a single boundary in his innings.
He was dismissed in the ninth over when he chased a widish delivery outside the off-stump from Ravi Bishnoi, the ball took the under-edge and deflected off the left boot of keeper Quinton de Kock without hitting the ground. The ball bounced immediately and Jason Holder at first slip completed the catch. The decision was referred to the third umpire and Ishan had to walk back to the pavilion.
Ishan Kishan who was the costliest buy at the auction this year as MI splurged 15.25 crores, hasn’t fired much with the bat this year. In eight innings so far, he has just scored 199 runs at an average of 28.42 and a strike rate of 108.15.
