The Lucknow Super Giants skipper also admitted that he still behaves like a kid everytime when he sees De Villiers. “My kid in a candy store moment came in I think 2012 or 2013 season, which was my first. I walked in and (saw) Virat (Kohli), Chris Gayle, Zaheer Khan, and AB, who was my favorite player and still is,” Rahul said on the Youtube show ‘Breakfast with Champions.

- Rahul first met the former RCB cricketer back in the 2012 and 2013 seasons.
- The LSG opener was 20 years old back then and just returned after playing the Under-19 World.
- On the other hand, De Villiers was the number one batter in ODI and Test cricket.
- Rahul revealed that he always watches videos of his favorite cricketer whenever he goes on any overseas tour. He also admitted that he has a very cute relationship with De Villiers.

“I have a very nice, cute relationship with AB. I’m still very like… I don’t have words. Nothing comes out. I try and then look like an idiot when trying to make a conversation with him after the games in IPL because there is so much I want to ask him but I don’t know. It’s a proper fanboy moment with him,” said Rahul on the Youtube show ‘Breakfast with Champions.
