Jos the Boss’ 2nd ton – The Rajasthan Royals opener had already hit a century against Mumbai Indians earlier this year by scoring 100 runs off 68 balls in the match. On Monday, the English man continued his impressive run as he took on the KKR bowlers.

Buttler had a slow start in the innings as he scored only 3 runs off the first 9 balls he faced. From the tenth ball, he however got going as he smashed Umesh Yadav for back-to-back boundaries in the third over of the innings.

Buttler managed to find at least one boundary every over from then on as he brought up his fifty off 29 deliveries. He played Sunil Narine alone cautiously but continued his assault on the other bowlers.

In the 17th over, he lofted a full-toss from Pat Cummins over long on to get to his century in style in just 59 deliveries.

  • With the ton, Buttler has now become the first player from England to score 3 centuries in IPL history.
  • He extended his lead at the top of IPL 2022 Orange Cap leaderboard with 375 runs.
  • With three IPL tons, he is now only behind Chris Gayle (6), Virat Kohli (5), David Warner (4) and Shane Watson (4).

Speaking after the innings, when Buttler was asked to compare both his hundreds this seasn, he said, “I enjoyed both. Loved both but I think I was a little bit more fluid today once I got going. It was great to get such good score on the board.”
