While there was no opening ceremony organized for this year’s IPL, it has now been confirmed that there will be a closing ceremony ahead of the grand finale on May 29, which will be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

On Saturday, BCCI released a notice which invited bids from reputed companies to stage the closing ceremony of the tournament, through a tender process. According to the guidelines, those interested in this bidding will have to purchase the ‘Request for Proposal’ (RFP) document for INR 1 lakh plus taxes.
“BCCI is working on the plan to have a closing ceremony this year. We are discussing having a closing ceremony this year after the final match in Ahmedabad. We want to bring back the colour of IPL so you might see the closing ceremony,” a source from BCCI told ANI.
“The BCCI invites bids from reputed entities for staging the Closing Ceremony of IPL 2022, through a tender process. Any interested party wishing to submit a bid is required to purchase the RFP. However, only those satisfying the eligibility criteria set out in the RFP and subject to the other terms and conditions set out therein, shall be eligible to bid,” BCCI honorary secretary Jay Shah wrote in the official notice.
