Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh sustained a hip flexor injury during a training session with the national team, that is currently playing an ODI series against Pakistan. It was initially feared that Marsh will miss the entire season and Delhi Capitals will have to call on a replacement, but that is not the case anymore, as the player is soon joining the DC camp.
Interestingly, Delhi Capitals’ squad already has another player in rehab, in South African pacer Anrich Nortje. Given that neither of the two are likely to be back at their one hundred per cent any time soon, coupled with the fact that DC bought only seven foreign at the auction, could prove to be fatal for Rishabh Pant’s team. That being said, DC had a good start to their campaign as they handed Mumbai Indians a 4-wicket defeat in their first game, despite fielding only two foreigners.
