His unbeaten 66 off 34 took RCB to 189/5, giving them plenty of room to defend the total. However, it wasn’t one off. DK this season has been a revelation. He has remained unbeaten five times in his six innings to enter Top 10 race of IPL 2022 Orange Cap.

“The way DK and Shahbaz finished off there, it was absolutely brilliant. DK was outstanding, has been the whole season for us so far this year. He’s been dismissed only once, he almost got us over the line last game when it looked like a no-hope situation. The way he’s been clear at the crease, he’s been able to pick his spots and his ball-striking has been second to none so far this tournament. For him to come in, play the role, allow himself that time to get in has been outstanding,” Glenn Maxwell said after the innings.
However, it hasn’t been an isolated incident. In the Top 10 run-getters this season, Dinesh Karthik has the highest strike rate this season at 209.57. In fact, he is the only batsman with over 200 strike rate with over 100 runs.
