Warner needed 24 runs in the match to get to 1000 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders. Chasing 147, Warner lost his opening partner Prithvi Shaw in the first ball of the innings. However, Warner got off to a got off to a good start once again for his franchise. He scored a boundary off the very first delivery he faced in the innings with a delightful cover drive.
He kept finding boundaries at will to accelerate the run rate for Delhi Capitals and soon reached the milestone of scoring thousand runs against KKR in the sixth over of the innings.
By achieving the milestone, he became only the second batsman after Rohit Sharma to go past 1000 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders.
