The nature of Adam Milne’s injury scares CSK. Milne suffered a hamstring injury and it could take another two weeks to recover. He sustained in CSK’s first match against KKR. He left the field bowling just 2.3 overs. However, CSK do not have the luxury of waiting around the corner to have their pace battery fit and ready.
“Milne is recovering but we do not by when he will be fully fit. It could take a week or two. But it will depend on the progress of his recovery. At this moment, we are hopeful that he will be able to return,” a Chennai Super Kings official told InsideSport.IN.

Deepak Chahar replacement – However, CSK have hit a snag in search of a potential replacement for Chahar. The team management is yet to zero in on a replacement option as they believe “they believe there is no one capable enough to replace Chahar.”
“We can only seek a replacement when the team management gets back to us. So far, there is no one who can be as effective as Deepak. His effectiveness in the powerplay is second to none and he can add depth with the bat. We do not have any Indian option at the moment. We are waiting for Milne’s recovery progress and then take a call soon,” the official said.

On Sunday, although CSK aced the powerplay bowling with three wickets against Gujarat Titans, they lacked a proper death-overs bowler as Tymal Mills gave away 25 runs to Rashid Khan and CSK ended up losing their fifth match out of 6.
That stat is enough for CSK to go hard for a replacement as the existing fast bowling unit isn’t enough. If Milne is ruled out for at least two weeks, CSK’s campaign would be lost.
