According to the information coming in from sources, as reported earlier Lucknow team will be led by KL Rahul & Coached by former England batting coach Andy Flower. Not only the sources have also informed InsideSport that the new team has also confirmed a title sponsorship deal with a leading international brand.

IPL 2022: Concerned Ahmedabad franchise officials awaits BCCI’s clearance, Lucknow IPL team zooms ahead with coach, captain, title sponsor all finalized
IPL 2022 – Ahmedabad vs Lucknow IPL Team: In complete contrast to Lucknow IPL team, CVC Capital owned Ahmedabad team is yet to get clearances from the BCCI.
As per the decision in IPL Governing Council & BCCI meeting, a committee has been constituted to make a decision on Ahmedabad IPL team ownership. The decision was expected in a week’s time but is still awaited.
InsideSport has learnt that the officials representing CVC Capital have parked themselves in Mumbai but are yet to hear from the board.
InsideSport reached out to two senior officials of BCCI on Thursday evening. The board officials informed the website that the appointed committee should submit the report by early next week.
“We are waiting for the committee’s guidance & judgement on the Ahmedabad team. We are expecting the report by early next week”, said the BCCI official.
The BCCI official further declared that not only Ahmedabad but the Lucknow franchise has also been asked to hold on to any signing or announcement.
“Even Lucknow IPL team will not do any signing or announcement till the matter of Ahmedabad franchise is not sorted. We will give equal time to both sides to complete 3 signings before auctions and for other requisities”, said the top BCCI official.

IPL 2022 – Ahmedabad vs Lucknow IPL Team: Both the franchises are yet to announce their names or release logos for the new teams.
But behind the scenes work is on.
Lucknow has finalized KL Rahul as its captain and Andy Flower as its coach.
InsideSport has also learnt that even the Ahmedabad franchise has taken verbal assurances from the former India coach Ravi Shastri to coach the new IPL team.
IPL 2022 Auction Updates: When will both franchises finalized their 3 signings?
As per the earlier deadline, both new franchises were given deadline to finalize 3 signings by December 25th.
But now its clear that the timelines will be pushed to the NEW YEAR. The BCCI is yet to announce the new deadline. If the Ahmedabad franchise issue is sorted by the next week, new teams can be given 15-20 days window to finalize their signings.
This means the IPL 2022 Mega Auctions will now be pushed to 3rd or 4th week of January 2022.
