The duo was on song in the innings as both the batsmen attacked the Kolkata Knight Riders bowlers. Both the batsmen were unbeaten and while Quinton de Kock scored 140 off 70 deliveries. KL Rahul remained not out scoring 68 off 51 balls.
This is the first-time ever in the 15 year history of the league that an opening partnership was unbroken after a team batted first and completed 20 overs.
With their unbroken stand, the duo has eclipsed the 185-run stand between Jonny Bairstow and David Warner for Sunrisers Hyderabad against Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2019. This is also the third highest partnership for any wicket in IPL
