Sanjay Manjrekar believes Hardik has all the necessary tools to lead GT to the IPL title and said Hardik is the best captain in the IPL 2022 while speaking to ESPNcricinfo.

Reason 1: Leading from the front-
- Hardik has been a consistent performer in the IPL 2022 with the bat scoring 453 runs in 14 matches.
- Hardik’s ability to guide the team from front resulted in GT topping the league phase.
- While there were question marks on his captaincy skills, he has done well to blend the talent at his disposal.
- Promoting himself up at No.4 and dazzling was another key factor where he has helped the team.
Reason 2: Decision-Making ability –
- Not many were convinced with Hardik’s decision-making ability, but he has flourished in that role.
- Using Lockie Ferguson, David Miller at important times and then making use of Rahul Tewatia down the order has seen Hardik flourish in leadership role.
