IPL 2022: Delhi Capitals Covid outbreak – The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is unhappy with a second Covid-19 outbreak in the Delhi Capitals camp. On Sunday morning, an unnamed net bowler tested positive, forcing the entire squad into another round of isolation, for a second time. But BCCI isn’t taking this lightly. They are baffled about how it can happen for a second time and will launch a problem to determine the course of action.

“It’s baffling. Right now, it is difficult to say how did this happen again, whether from hotel staff or from franchise officials or the players,” a baffled BCCI official told InsideSport on Sunday.

Delhi Capitals are staying at the iconic Taj Mahal hotel in Mumbai and already four hotel staffers have tested positive over the last one month. The BCCI will investigate the matter to find out how can a team suffer two Covid outbreaks in a month inside a bio-secure bubble.

It should be noted that this is the second time Delhi Capitals are under Covid scanner. Last month, Mitchell Marsh and Tim Seifert tested positive besides a host of DC franchise members.

“We will investigate the matter and take appropriate action so that it doesn’t happen again. It damages the image of IPL. But like in the past, it is always difficult to determine the source of the outbreak. We are monitoring the situation,” the BCCI official told InsideSport.
