Chris Gayle NO to IPL Auction: It is worth noting that Gayle has entertained & played in IPL in all 14 editions till date. He has played for 3 IPL teams i.e KKR, RCB & Punjab Kings. It is still not clear why Gayle has decided to skip IPL Auction this year.

The Jamaican has been a regular feature in the IPL since its inception but the West Indies veteran, who is surely near the autumn of his international career, may have realised the diminishing batting returns. 

At this stage their is no official statement by Gayle on why he is skipping IPL Auction.

In 14 editions of IPL Gayle has played 142 matches. He has scored 4965 runs at a average of 389.72 & Strike Rate of 148.

According to InsideSport moneyball – he has earned 58.65 Crores from IPL during this period.

IPL 2022 Auction: Warner, Ashwin, Rabada, 46 other players list for 2 Crore base price, Gayle, Sam Curran says ‘No to IPL Auction’

As reported earlier by InsideSport, Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer, Chris Gayle, Mitchell Starc & Sam Curran will not be part of IPL Auction this year. Some of the big international names who have made themselves available are Pat Cummins (Australia, base price Rs 2 crore), David Warner (Australia, Rs 2 crore), Steve Smith (Australia, Rs 2 crore), Quinton de Kock (South Africa, Rs 2 crore), Faf du Plessis (South Africa, Rs 2 crore) and Mark Wood (England, Rs 2 crore).

Big Names in IPL Auctions: Some of the big names on the list, which includes 17 Indians and 32 overseas players, are R Aswhin, Shreyas Iyer, Shikhar Dhawan, Ishan Kishan, Suresh Raina, Pat Cummins, Adam Zampa, Steven Smith, Shakib al Hasan, Mark Wood, Trent Boult, Faf du Plessis, Quinton de Kock, Kagiso Rabada and Dwayne Bravo.

It is worth noting that the 10 franchises have already spent nearly INR 338 crore to retain and acquire 33 players.

IPL 2022 Auction: 1,214 players register for IPL 2022 Player Auction: According to information given by the BCCI, Total of 1,214 players (896 Indian and 318 overseas players) have signed up to be part of the IPL 2022 Player Auction.

The two-day Mega Auction will see 10 Teams bidding for some of the finest talents in world cricket.

The players list incorporates 270 capped, 903 uncapped and 41 Associate players.

The detailed list is as below:

Uncapped Indians who were a part of previous IPL seasons (143 players)
Uncapped International who were a part of previous IPL seasons (6 players)
